We are leaving Rwanda in 2 days! We are SO sad. We've been working hard this week though to make sure we have everything we need before we leave. Earlier this week we did some trainings with Moses - one of the Rwandan program managers - in Quantum GIS. The trainings went very well, with Moses picking up the basics of the software very quickly. We walked through basic operations like loading GPS points onto the computer, saving shapefiles, joining spreadsheets to the shapefiles, and changing the style of the data display.
We've also had some really exciting conversations with the staff here about infographics. We have so many ideas for products that we can work on once we're back in Middlebury - everything from explaining GHI's model to showing how compost increases crop yield. So many possibilities!!
